	Intranet Technology - Due to the inherent nature of web-based/ intranet technology web browsers are the ideal platform from which to distribute information and systems, thereby reducing training, and implementation overheads or in some cases negating the need altogether.
	No Complex Interfaces - Users see real live data from each of the suppliers systems. There is no need to duplicate data or to implement complex interfaces to a central order communications system.
	Freedom of Systems - The Trust is not tied to any single supplier. Users simply click the 'Radiology Results' link via the Trust intranet to access the relevant patient results required or to request additional radiology examinations.
	GP Booked Admissions - Through the use of simple web-pages, GPs can view diary slots and provisionally book appointments for patients, subject to IR(ME)R vetting.
	Teleradiology Facilities - Through the use of simple pages, on-call clinician's can directly access and update patient records, thereby reducing the risk associated with verbal dictation.

CRIS xPagesfrom HSS combines the latest technologies and in-depth knowledge of Radiology concepts to provide a fast and efficient web-based results & requesting system to non-radiology users.

A suite of web based modules provides functionality that can run stand-alone or can integrate with trust systems to provide trust or community wide results & requests:

	A central screen which acts as a hub to all patient information. Allows searching by Ward, Referrer, PCG, Practice, GP or Patient. Shows all outstanding Requests, Appointments, Waiting Lists etc. Can integrate with Clinical Pathways.

	View, manipulate or animate clinical images from a web page. Remote access available from Radiologist’s homes or GP Practices.
	Teleradiology reporting option which allows Radiologists to generate clinical reports from home.
	Users can view all outstanding requests and make new requests for examinations as required. Radiology justification procedures IR(ME)R made easy. Departmental rules to prevent duplicate requests. On-line Royal College Radiology Guidelines from Clinical Summary. Context based prompts can be added based on examination.
	Appoint booking service which allows users to allocate an appointment to a request and also to view all available slots at any appropriate hospitals when integrated with the CRIS system.
	Allows GP’s to generate examination prep instructions from their surgery.
	Auditable request justification protocol for management of IR(ME)R regulations. Provides a structured procedure for vetting requests. Simplifies and complements IR(ME)R regulations.
	Provides wards and departments with the ability to view previous and current film locations, as well as tracking films around the Trust. This enables the radiology department to maintain a more accurate guide of film movements and the potential location of any misplaced films.
