Computerised Breast Screening System

Healthcare Software System's - CBSS performs all the administrative and management functions of a Breast Screening Department.

The system has been designed to meet the information management needs of both static and mobile screening units. Data is automatically transferred from HA computer units for all women who fall into the specified age range. The system then creates master records for all transferred patients, automatically allocates screening appointments in clinics set up by the unit and prints appointment letters.

Data input screens are available for Screening and Assessment with the option of additional Pathology and Surgical Screens if required.

All standard reports are available including Korner KC62. In addition, the 4GL application software allows open access to the data files for Ad-Hoc reporting via the built in 'query' language.

Core modules include:

	HA Transfer - Electronic 2-way link utilising the MediFACT (electronic data interchange) package facilitating the receipt of batches and registration changes from all required HA's, as well as transfer of all completed (terminated) batches back to the relevant HA.
	Reception - Demographic details can be entered/amended easily minimising the delay should the request for screening come by telephone for a lady over the age of automatic screening invitation. Duplicates are kept to a minimum by automatic searches upon key details entered such as surname, forename, DOB and NHS number. Ladies who already exist on the system can be instantly recalled by entering their unique project ID.
	Appointments - Allows instant access to all appointments and provides the facility to change any appointment on the fly, so that callers can be informed of their new appointment within seconds. The option to send a confirmatory letter regarding the changed appointment is also available.
	Screening Results - Two stage process which enters details about number of films taken, radiographer, date etc followed by the actual screening interpretations. Utilises coded entry to allow fast, easy entry of data. 'Normal' results can be fast track entered utilising a barcode reader (CCD) which requires only ONE keystroke to confirm the save.
	Assessment Reports - Two stage process for entering full details about clinical, ultrasound and pathology specimens, followed by details of interpretations and action required.
	AD-HOC Reporting - Powerful, intuitive point and shoot reporting tool allowing users to create and save reports easily.
	Pathology - Entry of all biopsy and pathology results pertinent to providing nationally required statistical returns such as KC62.
	Surgical - Designed by surgeons for use by surgeons. A full data entry suite for entering details for biopsy & treatment and follow-up details with the facility for printing partially completed forms from details already held within the CBSS application.
